CALL 112 NOW

Call 112 immediately. Keep firm pressure on the wound with both hands or a clean dressing. A tourniquet is not possible here; hold the pressure without interruption until help arrives.

Do this
• Call 112 immediately
• Keep firm continuous pressure on the wound with a clean cloth or piece of clothing
• Do not move the casualty unless there is immediate danger
• Keep the casualty warm with a blanket
• Reassure the casualty and check their level of consciousness

Warning signs
• Continuing spurting blood
• An abdominal wound with organs showing
• Head or chest injury with loss of consciousness
• The casualty goes into shock (pale, sweaty, confused)

Call 112 as soon as you can.
