Do not use this water under any circumstances. Chemical contamination can remain dangerous even after boiling. Report what you have found to the council or the water board straight away, via 112 or the environmental hotline.
Do this
• Do not use this water at all, not even after boiling or filtering
• Do not let the water touch your skin or clothing
• Call the environmental emergency line or the council
• Report the location and a description of the contamination
• Find an alternative safe water source
Warning signs
• A rainbow-coloured oily film on the water
• A sharp chemical or rotten smell
• Dead fish or birds nearby
• Unusual foaming or discolouration
Call 112 as soon as you can.
