About Us

SiSCD is a Dutch-speaking group of electronics and digital technology enthusiasts in Duffel, Belgium. We organize a SiSCD (Socks in Sandals Creativity Day) at least once a month.

The SiSCDs aim to provide participants with a place to work on their projects mainly related to electronics and digital technology, sharing knowledge in these domains by giving demonstrations and presentations and making available specialized tools and equipment to realize those projects. The participants' projects must have an electronic and/or digital solution as their goal. Projects on which multiple members collaborate are encouraged and given priority over the use of the materials, tools, equipment and facilities provided.

More information can be found at http://www.siscd.org/ (Dutch only)

The Node

We are running a Lora Node at our location. The antenna is high up on the antenna tower connected via 13m of Ecoflex15 and an 868MHz cavity filter to a TTGO T-Beam

If you want to connect use these settings:

frequency = 869400000
bandwidth = 125000
spreadingfactor = 8
codingrate = 5

We also host a Wifi Access Point for Wireless Belgium. If you are connected to our AP you can use RNS out of the box. If you are on the Wireless Belgium network but not directly connected to our AP, can add rns-wlb.siscd.org:4965 to your RNS config as TCP Client.

Ordered LILYGO® TTGO LoRa32 V2.1_1.6 Version 868MHz with a TCXO on AliExpress.

2024-01-13
Import customs clearance completed.

2024-01-16
Lora modules arrived. Installed RNode firmware on 1 module and connected it to the antenne in the tower.

2024-01-17
To much issues to get those LoRa32 V2.1_1.6 working. Is it an issue with the modules? I ordered TTGO T-Beam - LoRa 868MHz - NEO-6M to try with other modules

2024-01-18
The TTGO T-Beam modules arrived. Flashed them with rnodeconf et voila, it 'just works'. So what is the issue with those LoRa32 V2.1_1.6 modules? Mark build a test version for our "T3 Lora V2.1_1.6 TCXO" modules that seems to be wired a bit differently.

2024-01-19
Unfortunately the test version still fails on our modules. Connected a TTGO T-Beam to the antenne on the antenne tower. Try it out when you are around!
