Compositing sort of works with xcompmgr, but not with picom. It looks like any windows launched before the compositor will have some trouble redrawing.

The system becomes ... graphically unstable. Much like when using T383838compiz on NVidia cards back when the T383838Xdamage extension was becoming a thing. Remember the windows that caught fire when you closed them?
