anxiety and diet

I get a sort of anxiety from caffeine. It was something I experimented with mid to late last year. At least, I think it's anxiety? It's this nagging feeling that some things that really aren't all that important are extremely important and are going to be a huge problem and must be dealt with immediately.

In my youth I didn't get anxiety. I used to consume a fair amount of caffeine while working on some hyper focused task, and so instead of being anxious I was just more aware and more alert. But without a focal point for it, it becomes anxiety and I fixate on things that wouldn't otherwise bother me.

I haven't had any caffeine in any meaningful amount for months, but I had some chocolate a few weeks ago that I mixed with maple syrup. There were a couple of ways I consumed this, one was to mix it with melted cocoa butter, another was to mix it with raw egg yolk to make a pudding. There's something like a 1/20000 chance I'll get salmonella doing this. Anyway, after a week of consuming a fair amount of chocolate I ended up with what felt like a withdrawal headache a few days later and then I started to get that moodiness I noticed previously with caffeine. But now I'm labeling it as anxiety.

I may have to give up chocolate, at least temporarily. Perhaps it's time to go back to a full carnivore diet and ensure that I remain symptom free for a month before I deviate again. The anxiety is now gone, but I'm only feeling good instead of amazingly good. I also stopped drinking decaffeinated coffee during this time, just to be sure there were no potential source of caffeine. I've also been drinking more water.
