There is a lot in the paragraph with this quote that aims to inspire the listener or reader or whomever by telling them what they should be like and appeal to their identity.
The obvious message: everything is an opportunity for improvement, no matter how dire, everything is a blessing as it was chosen by divinity and delivered to man for exactly that reason.
