NixOS Books
I wanted a more comprehensive understanding of NixOS and for some reason I thought this could come from a book. I couldn't find anything with any reviews. I made a purchase based on the description of the book as provided by the author. I gambled on a book with no reviews, no recommendations, and I think I've learned a valuable lesson: Almost the entire line of thinking was flawed and there are no good in-print Nix or NixOS books.
There are, however, some very good looking titles in a thread of a similar topic over on the NixOS forums. I haven't yet seen anything about using NixOS for so-called DevOps yet (maybe the in production title will have something), but I'm filling in gaps in my knowledge.
An excellent quality that most of the e-books I've found online have git repositories. I'm starting a running list here. I've started the first one, it's pretty good. The others are in the queue, I leafed through them a bit, so to speak, but I'm going to hit them in order.

With the mhwombat nix-book, you can T383838nix develop followed by T383838make epub to generate a nicely parse-able document that looks great in Epy at the CLI. I haven't built the others locally yet, I've just viewed some of the materials from already published versions.
