SUMMARY
PURSUE Release 02 was cleared for public release by the U.S. Department of War on May 22, 2026, the second tranche under the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE). The first tranche was released May 8, 2026. DOW publishes new tranches "on a rolling basis ... every few weeks."
This inventory covers the document bundle ('release_02_document_bundle.zip', 70.1 MB), which contains six declassified PDFs spanning four agencies (CIA, DOE, DOW, ODNI) and a date range from 1948 to late 2025. A separate video bundle ('uap052226.zip', ~5.6 GB) ships the release's sensor clips and is inventoried separately.
As with Release 01, the materials are unresolved cases — the government states it "is unable to make a definitive determination on the nature of the observed phenomena."

WHAT'S SUBSTANTIVE VS WHAT'S LIGHT
High signal:
- ODNI-UAP-D001 (USPER narrative). The firsthand account behind the most consequential single-witness case of Release 01. It corroborates and substantially expands the FBI-302 summary. The key document of the tranche.
- DOW-UAP-D017 (Sandia green fireball file). Primary-source documentation of one of the foundational episodes in US government UFO history, on Sandia Base letterhead, with La Paz's analysis and the OSI summary to Brig. Gen. Joseph F. Carroll. Directly connects to the existing FBI 62-HQ-83894 archive.
- CIA-UAP-D001 (Sary Shagan). A clean HUMINT-incidental UAP observation over a strategic Soviet weapons range, agency-sourced.
Lower signal / contextual:
- DOE-UAP-D001 (Pantex). A real instrumented detection (radar + Sandia enhancement) at the U.S. nuclear-weapons assembly plant, but the released extract is only 2 image pages of a 6-page report; the narrative is missing.
- DOE-UAP-D002 (Tuck) and DOE-UAP-D003 (Pajarito). Light correspondence/newsletter items. Their value is contextual — they document the Los Alamos science community's sustained engagement with the UFO question from 1948 through 1986.
THE TWO THROUGHLINES OF RELEASE 02
- The nuclear/weapons-installation pattern. Five of the six documents touch nuclear or weapons infrastructure: Sandia Base, Los Alamos, Pantex, the Soviet Sary Shagan range, and a U.S. weapons test range. This is the same pattern that dominates Release 01 and the FBI 62-HQ-83894 file.
- The New Mexico nuclear-science cluster across four decades. Sandia/green-fireballs (1948-1950) → Tuck (1976) → Pajarito Astronomers (1986) form a continuous record of Los Alamos-area scientists treating the phenomenon as a serious topic.
