I've been exposed a considerable dosage of this toxin myself, so here is what I've learned.
Most teachers and professors are not incentivized to teach new material. It is much easier to simply repeat the same topics over and over again. Knowing this allows you to identify some cheatcode subjects that almost always come up in certain situations. You can answer almost any question thrown your way by simply mentioning the correct key topic. Try it out if you want to score some easy points. You don't have to understand - just use it whenever you're asked anything.
