Before you come at me with a steamroller, I know what dimenture is, what it involves and have dealt with it in the past with elderly relatives. I'm sympathetic towards people with that condition, and it can be pretty unpleasant and distressing. But the even bigger problem is when you have someone in charge of a major country with a very large military who is also suffering from delusions about imagined enemies or imagined talks with imagined people which took place only in his head. When it's happening to your elderly relative it's distressing but has few consequences. When it's happening to a president it can have lots of consequences.

I was wondering whether I need to stock up on petrol, like a real actual prepper, but have decided not to. "Doing my own research" (doing air quotes) I notice that most of the UK oil and gas supply comes from USA and Norway. And the same applies for Germany and France. So shortages and queues at the petrol pumps are not very likely. But the main problem will be higher prices at a time when there is already a cost of living crisis. Since it's globally set, oil price will go up, as will the prices of anything downstream from that. Also the prices of anything manufactured within UAE oil dependent countries, like India and China, will go up. So that will mean electronics and textiles and possibly generic medications. Your fast fashion will get slower and RAM prices will be even wilder.

There's a limited margin within which petrol prices make sense. We saw in 2000 that excessive fuel prices can lead to haulage strikes with widespread consequences for the economy. Later and for similar reasons there were the "yellow vest" protests in France. Unless something happens to keep petrol prices affordable, things could become chaotic even if on paper there is technically no oil supply shortage. If the average worker can't afford to drive to work then things come to a standstill quickly.
