Reading some comical posts in the fediverse, in which some slop prompters are affronted that people treat them like social pariahs and are blocking and insulting them. This is a pattern that I've seen many times before in the more indie social network systems, where mainstream people arrive believing that they will automatically be respected because they believe that they have some magical status, but instead are mocked, jeered, and sometimes chased off the platform (the digital equivalent of being tarred and feathered).

What the AI bros and other types of grifters really want and expect to be able to do is to straightforwardly trade money for influence. They can do that easily on the commercial social networks by buying ads and influencers and SEO, or in the case of Elon Musk by buying the platform to use as his personal megaphone. But in a decentralized system it's totally different. There is no heirarchy, and tired arguments about "who watches the watchers" just get laughed at. There is no skydaddy or bigman here who is going to defend you from making a complete fool of yourself. So engage brain before hitting the keyboard, and tread lightly in places which are unfamiliar.
