About

The IT-Syndikat, “Association for the promotion of free access to technical
education of all kinds”, is a hackerspace in Innsbruck. We are housed in the
premises of the artist collective cunst&co (https://cunst.net/).

┃ Hackerspaces (also hacklabs, hackspaces) are community-operated physical
┃ places, where people share their interest in tinkering with technology,
┃ meet and work on their projects, and learn from each other.

Our principles are based on the hacker ethics of the Chaos Computer
Club (https://www.ccc.de/en/hackerethik):

– Access to computers — and anything which might teach you something about the
way the world really works — should be unlimited and total. Always yield to
the Hands-On Imperative!
– All information should be free.
– Mistrust authority — promote decentralization.
– Hackers should be judged by their acting, not bogus criteria such as degrees,
age, race, or position.
– You can create art and beauty on a computer.
– Computers can change your life for the better.
– Don’t litter other people’s data.
– Make public data available, protect private data.

Please keep these principles in mind when visiting.
