Digital Sovereignty is often talked about at a macro-level involving countries concerned with their lively hood being shut off at the whim of another country or corporation. While this is a big deal these days and many countries are already working on solutions this doesn't solve the micro personal level.

When I do a search for individual digital sovereignty the first item I notice is that many of the articles deal only with the macro level, I also notice that many of these articles are written by the very companies that cause the issues in the first place. It makes me believe that these companies are only putting these documents out to make the population feel like they care.

These same fears that countries are facing also affect individuals, your data is sold for profit, you privacy is invaded daily to the point that the location and activities you perform are all logged by large companies taking the security and privacy out of your hands.

So how do you take back the controls from these large organizations? The same way that countries would and it isn't easy. Countries at least have resources to throw behind the problem but individuals likely don't. Building your own infrastructure can and is time consuming. The cost can be monumental depending on how far you want to go.

My goal with this section is to find and post articles, how-to guides and personal experiences to hopefully help with this process to some degree.
