Introducting the NomadNet CMS Starter
On adding a new NN CMS Starter node and more

It's been a while since I posted something here, and the reason for that is that I've been working on creating a standalone node which showcases the NomadNet CMS Starter that sprung from this project.

So, rather than creating a CMS starter package from this node, development was moved into a dedicated repo.

Changelog since the projects diverged

And lots of stuff has been going on with the CMS Starter project:

- Engine and rendering cleanup
- site_theme.py now returns raw values and the engine applies Micron formatting
- A shared helper module, system/core/micron_style.py, was added
- page_renderer.py, directives.py, markdown_parser.py, and system/apps/chat/render.py were updated to use that shared styling layer
- Markdown rendering was improved, especially around backticks, code blocks, inline code, and directive handling

- Navigation improvements
- system/core/navigation.py now supports nested navigation items
- page_renderer.py and system/templates/fragments/header.mu gained support for secondary navigation

- More documentation-oriented content
- The starter became much more docs-focused, with pages like creating-content.md, markdown.md, templates.md, directives.md, theme.md, and get-started.md
- It also added a richer content/examples/ section

- Deployment and storage changes
- The Forgejo workflow became more configurable and production-ready
- The deploy script was generalized instead of being tied to one machine
- Chat/comments database paths were changed to resolve relative to the deployed storage/pages directory
- The deployment workflow now also auto-creates and deploys an updated .zip to this page so I don't serve you outdated files.

All in all, this means that it's now hopefully easier to clone and use this project, for me and for you, whether you use NomadNet to host a node or something like e.g. RNS-page-node.

I use NomadNet for this node and RNS Page Node for the CMS starter node.
