Giosuè Carducci (1835–1907) was an Italian poet, literary scholar, and educator who played a leading role in the revival of classical forms in modern Italian literature. Renowned for his mastery of language and his patriotic verse, he celebrated Italy's history, culture, and national unification while also writing deeply personal and reflective poetry. His best-known collections include Odi barbare (Barbarian Odes), Rime nuove (New Rhymes), and Giambi ed Epodi (Iambs and Epodes).
