Robert A Heinlein
Robert A. Heinlein (1907–1988) was one of the most influential American science fiction writers of the twentieth century. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, he served as a naval officer before turning to writing after illness ended his military career. Beginning in the late 1930s, he helped define the "Golden Age" of science fiction with novels and stories that combined scientific rigor, political ideas, and compelling adventure. His best-known works include Stranger in a Strange Land, Starship Troopers, The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress, and Time Enough for Love. Heinlein won four Hugo Awards for Best Novel and was the first recipient of the Science Fiction Writers of America's Grand Master Award. His exploration of technology, individual liberty, and social organization made him one of the genre's most enduring and controversial voices.
