Agnes Henningsen
Agnes Henningsen (1868-1962) was a Danish writer, reformer and feminist. Born wealthy, the family lost everything and after a series of tragedies and scandals she found herself a divorced mother of 4 with no income. She started writing, and published 12 novels about her (sex) life and the role of women in society, which made her both famous and infamous. Her clear voice and refusal to adhere to bourgeoisie morals made her one of two female members od the Danish Academy when it was founded in 1960.
