New to all this? You are in the right place. No jargon, promise.
What is Reticulum?
Reticulum is a way for devices to talk to each other directly and privately. It
works over the internet, but also over radio and other links, so it keeps
working when ordinary networks do not. There is no company in the middle, no
phone number, and no sign-up. Every message is encrypted automatically, and you
are identified by a cryptographic key that only you hold.
What is this node, for you?
Think of it as a helpful, always-on friend on the network. It does two things
that make your life easier:
* It is a meeting point. Point your app at this node and you can reach other
people and services on the network through it.
* It is a mailbox. If someone sends you a message while your device is off or
out of range, this node can hold it for you and deliver it when you return.
What do I need?
Just a Reticulum app on your phone or computer. Common ones are MeshChatX,
Sideband, and NomadNet. Install one, and you already have an identity - the app
made it for you the first time it started.
My first three steps
1. Install a Reticulum app and let it create your identity.
2. Add this node so your app can use it. The exact settings are on the
connect page.
3. Send a message to a friend, or browse back to this node's home page from
inside your app. That is it - you are on the network.
