Old Internet Sites
Wiby is a search engine focused on indexing old/simple HTML websites. Websites are added to the index through submissions, as the index does not crawl by default. It does not censor or derank websites and also has a surprise me button, which randomly takes you to a website on the index.
VidLii [](http://vidlii3kemmoa2rwvpuch5tzztyxhlwpuogpttgzc25ckqszaiy7gmyd.onion/)
VidLii is a video sharing site, which is meant to emulate old YouTube in both appearance and culture. It has a minimal amount of rules. It was first created by Jan and then bought by lolwut. It used to be hosted on the Kolyma network, which is why there is both a Sharty and Heyuri userbase on it.
Gore used to be allowed in VidLii but is now banned after the change of ownership from lolwut to aniki.
Heyuri is an imageboard created by lolico in 2019, which is meant to emulate old 4chan. It was then bought by kuz and was hosted on Kolyma Network. Kuz stepped down as the owner and kaguya is the new owner. There used to be only a few boards like /b/, /jp/ /o/ (Oekaki) and /q/ (Site Discussion) but this changed in 2024, when some trail boards were officialy added to Heyuri, like /l/ (Lolikon) or /a/. In my opinion, post quality was much better when the boards were unified.
It perserves its culture with Rule 8, a rule banning anything not in line with the site's culture, such as, modern 4chan memes, greentext stories and modern-day buzzwords.
Most posts are funny and interesting. However, Heyuri can sometimes feel like it's trying too hard to pretend to be like old 4chan. It has created a lot of original content, like the music album DON'T STOP THE MUSIC[](magnet:?xt=urn%3Abtih%3A1d5fb9ae1215d50377cabeb4c88f5a2bbef6bb89&dn=Heyuri%20-%20DON%27T%20STOP%20THE%20MUSIC&tr=http%3A%2F%2Ftracker2.postman.i2p%2Fannounce.php)produced by anons on Heyuri.
YTKNS (You're The Kid Now Squid) is a clone of YTMND, hosted by flash, the creator of Flashii. It does not require Javascript for some zones, unlike YTMND.
Neocities is a Geocities revival, where you can make a website with 1GB storage for free. There are no ads or any other strings attached - it is entirely donation-funded.
In my opinion, most Neocities sites are devoid of actual content. They focus too much on appearance and their complex modern idea of what the old internet used to look like, that most sites ends up becoming repetetive and souless. There are a minority of sites which are simple in design and actually host useful content.
