Scotland's Reticulum network

Welcome to the ScotMesh backbone. These pages are served over Reticulum itself, so they work wherever Reticulum reaches you: over the internet, over I2P, or over LoRa radio with no internet at all.

Say hello

Come and talk to people. There is one ScotMesh chat with three ways in; pick whichever suits you and everyone sees the same messages.

What runs on this node

Propagation node
c283b754e0acc11ce48d2f5e29167e0c holds messages for people who are offline and delivers them when they reappear. Sideband and MeshChatX usually find it on their own.

Transport
The node relays traffic between Scottish operators and the wider Reticulum network, peering with rmap.world, rebelnet.uk and rns.cybercore.uk. It is open to anyone and costs nothing.

Connect a node of your own

Add this to your Reticulum config file (normally ~/.reticulum/config), under [interfaces]:

Or reach the node over I2P instead, which needs no port forwarding at either end:

Restart Reticulum, then check the interface shows as Up with rnstatus. There is no registration, no account and no key exchange to arrange. The step-by-step guide, including the apps that need no config file at all, is Connecting to ScotMesh.

Every ScotMesh radio must use the same five settings, or it cannot hear the others:
