I've gotten several messages from people who happened to see the blog. Pretty neat! I know there's not really anything earth-shattering here, but it's still cool to know people saw stuff I'm hosting.

Anyway, I don't presently have any LoRa hardware. I'll probably get some at some point, but money is tight and at time it's difficult to justify spending money on hobby projects. I will eventually, though! I'm curious to find out the range of some of the LoRa devices and whether or not I can use them to access information as I move around at work and other places I frequent.

As a BBSer (former and current), I was thinking about the possibility of using something like Reticulum for Fidonet-style messaging networks. I don't know if it's really feasible or not, since replicating a bunch of messages over the mesh seems to me to be a wasteful use of limited bandwidth. But I dunno, maybe? There might be some other way to do it that is efficient. I don't think there's anything in Reticulum for some sort of multicast or a broadcast/subscription messaging type, but I haven't looked that closely and something like that might exist.

Experiments continue, just... slowly. ;)
