I don't know that I'll have anything to add that others haven't already said, possibly in better ways, but I figure I'll give it a shot.

moonboot labs isn't any sort of official thing, but is primarily just a hobby project of mine and sometimes my associates. It was originally envisioned as an experimental playground for a variety of tech-related things with a name born during a night of drinking. Good times.
